Rubber Division seeks nominations.Nominations are being accepted by the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a learned society (professional association) based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry. Founded in 1876 at New York University, the ACS currently has over 160,000 members at all degree-levels and in , for the following six Science and Technology Awards for 2006: The Charles Goodyear Medal, sponsored by the Rubber Division; the Sparks-Thomas Award, sponsored by ExxonMobil Chemical; the Melvin Mooney Melvin Mooney (1893-1968) was an American physicist. He developed the Mooney Viscometer and other testing equipment used in the rubber industry. He also proposed the Mooney-Rivlin solid constitutive law describing the hyperelastic stress-strain behavior of rubber. Distinguished Technology Award, sponsored by Crompton/Uniroyal Chemical; the George Stafford Whitby Award for Distinguished Teaching and Research, sponsored by Cabot; the Fernley H.
