 Sultan Qaboos Bin Said has issued a Royal Decree No. (37/ 2012) Forming the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman The Central Bank of Oman was established in December 1974 and began operations on 1st April 1975. It replaced the Oman Currency Board as the principal currency authority in Oman. . Article One: Forms the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman under the chairmanship of His Majesty the Sultan and membership of: 1- Dr. Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa as a Deputy Chairman. 2- Yahya bin Said bin Abdullah al-Jabri. 3- Sultan bin Salim bin Said al-Habsi as a Representative of the Finance Ministry. 4- Hamoud bin Sanjour bin Hashim al-Zedjali. 5- Mohsen bin Haider bin Darwish. 6- Dr. Hatim bin Bukhait al-Shanfri. The membership's period shall be for five years from the date of enforcing the decree. Article Two: Cancels all that contravenes with the decree or contradicts with its provisions. Article Three: The decree came into force from June 11th, 2012. --- Ends/ KH
