Roshan received the award for his contribution to the development, instruction and facilitation of internet courses for the Cast Metals Institute (CMI), Schaumburg, Ill. In October 2004, Roshan and CMI began offering internet courses as alternatives to the more traditional classroom and laboratory training. Today, five different online courses are offered, including Analysis of Casting Defects, Gating & Riser Design, Ductile Iron Ductile iron, also called ductile cast iron or nodular cast iron, is a type of cast iron invented in 1943 by Keith Millis[1]. While most varieties of cast iron are brittle, ductile iron is much more ductile, as the name implies. Metallurgy, Green Sand Control and Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6. Six Sigma is a set of practices originally developed by Motorola to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects.[1] A defect is defined as nonconformity of a product or service to its specifications. Green Belt Certification, all thanks in large pact to the work of Roshan. In the coming year, with Roshan's assistance, CMI plans to expand its internet course catalog by offering several short format (1-2 hour) courses and a number of live web seminars. |
