RosettaNet Extends Global Presence with Launch of Thai Office; RosettaNet to Bring Business Process Standards to Small and Mid-Sized Enterprises in the Region.


LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- RosettaNet, the leading business process standards consortium and subsidiary of GS1 US GS1 US is the GS1 Member Organization in the United States of America. Note: GS1 US was formerly the Uniform Code Council, Inc.

GS1 US is responsible to manage the GS1 System in the USA. GS1 US assigns GS1 Company Prefixes to companies/organizations in the USA.
(TM) (formerly the Uniform Code Council, Inc.), today announced the official launch of its newest regional affiliate, RosettaNet Thai. The launch celebration, hosted by Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, Director of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC NECTEC National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (Thailand) ), was held at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok.

RosettaNet Thai will initially focus on the adoption of RosettaNet's Automated Enablement Program, a low-cost solution for small and mid-sized enterprises to implement RosettaNet's overall business process standards. The new office will collaborate with Thai government agencies to support the high technology, hard disk drive, logistics and automotive industries Automotive Industries, Ltd. (Hebrew: תעשיות רכב נצרת עלית, תע"ר  in an effort to employ eCustoms, eLogitistics and Material Composition standards that deliver supply chain efficiencies to small and mid-sized enterprises. To date, RosettaNet Thai has formed an advisory board comprised of the following government and quasi-government agencies: NECTEC, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA NSTDA National Science and Technology Development Agency (Thailand) ), Electrical and Electronics Institute (EEI EEI Edison Electric Institute
EEI Estación Espacial Internacional (Spanish: International Space Station)
EEI Electrical and Electronics Institute (Thailand)
EEI Electro Energy, Inc.
), Office of Industrial Economics (OIE OIE Office International des Épizooties (French: International Office of Epizootics; Paris)
OIE Oficina Internacional de Epizootias (Spanish: World Organization for Animal Health) 
), as well as the Software Park Thailand Software Park Thailand is a government agency under the National Science and Technology Development Agency, and was established to stimulate the development of the Thai software industry. It has also maintained a close association with the private sector.  and Office of SMEs Promotion. It has also formed a protem steering committee comprised of RosettaNet consortium members from Seagate, Schenker, Exel, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , and Intel who are responsible for RosettaNet Thai operations. The committee will also provide strategy and bring an understanding of the value of standards to Thai industries and the community.
