Rosenwasser Named President and General Manager of Gannett's WTSP-TV in Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida.

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2001

Sam Rosenwasser has been named president and general manager of WTSP-TV, the Gannett-owned CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  affiliate in Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida.

This is part of a restructuring and an expansion of his duties as a senior vice president of Gannett Television. Rosenwasser will replace Noreen Parker, whose future plans have not yet been announced.

The announcement was made by Craig Dubow, president of Gannett Broadcasting.

"Sam combines a wealth of experience with a true passion for the television business. Tampa is a competitive market and Sam is a competitor. That makes for a great fit with WTSP WTSP White-Throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis) ," said Dubow.

Before being appointed senior vice president in February 2001, Rosenwasser had been president and general manager of KXTV, Gannett's ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

Prior to KVUE, Rosenwasser was the local sales manager for KXAN-TV in Austin. Before that he was an account executive for WFAA-TV (1985-1989) and KDFW-TV (1983-1985), both in Dallas, and held various positions in the news department of WFAA-TV in Dallas (1972-1976).

Rosenwasser is Chairman of the Board for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Sacramento. He is a former member of the Board of Directors (Austin Chapter) of American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT AWRT American Women in Radio and Television ) and the Association of Broadcast Executives in Texas (Dallas Chapter). He served on the Executive Board of Austin Crimestoppers, the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement for Central Texas, and was the Television Management Representative on The Capital Region Emergency Communications Committee.

Born in El Paso El Paso (ĕl pă`sō), city (1990 pop. 515,342), seat of El Paso co., extreme W Tex., on the Rio Grande opposite Juárez, Mex.; inc. 1873. , Texas, Rosenwasser earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/TV/Film at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He, his wife Kay and daughter Callie currently live in Folsom, a suburb of Sacramento.
