Rosemount Analytical Introduces the Standard in Low-Cost, Easy-to-Use Disposable pH Measurement; New Model 371VP 6.0 pH/ORP Sensor is Accurate, Stable and Rugged.

Rosemount Analytical, Uniloc Division, introduces the latest addition to the EuroSenz(TM) family: the Model 371 pH/ORP Sensor.

This new sensor features a standard Varipole (VP) 6.0 connector, integral thermocompensation, and free spinning PG 13.5 thread. This sensor is designed and manufactured to ensure reliable and accurate pH measurement and unprecedented sensor life in harsh, dirty, corrosive industrial applications. It is an ideal sensor for any application where ease-of-use and low maintenance costs are desired and a disposable pH or ORP sensor is needed.

Accuracy is assured with the Model 371's patented, industry-proven TUpH(TM) reference technology. A false pH measurement is a common problem in sensors. These erroneous pH measurements can cause costly product losses due to off specification. Drifting and false pH measurements often occur because surface coating impedes the ability of the diaphragma (reference junction) to maintain a constant voltage between the process and the internal electrolyte.

With the new TUpH diaphragma design, false readings are effectively eliminated. The TUpH diaphragma is composed of an inert fiber-loaded polypropylene matrix that provides cannulae that are typically 10 to 15 times smaller than competitive sensor diaphragma pore size.

This unique design gives the Model 371 diaphragma a surface area that is approximately 400 times larger than competitive reference frits. This large effective area ensures unimpeded contact between the reference element and process media and guarantees accurate and reliable pH measurement.

The sensor's Varipole 6.0 connector includes a robust, corrosion-resistant metal casing and gold-plated shield contacts to maintain a stable, noise-free signal. Once the Varipole plug is inserted into the socket, the unique seal design prevents any condensation from forming and causing a shorted signal or electrical drift. The six-pin Varipole connector provides the contacts needed to supply integral temperature compensation using either Pt100 or Pt1000 RTDs, whichever is appropriate.

The Model 371's rugged polypropylene, single-body construction resists handling breakage, erosion and corrosion. The sensor's patented (pending) "long life" secondary helical pathway provides a 180-mm diffusion path that deters reference contamination from poisoning ions, such as sulfides and mercury that can cause short sensor life in other sensors.
