Ron Davis Joins ACWA as New State Legislative Director.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) today announced that Ronald L. Davis has joined the ACWA staff as state legislative director. He assumes the position January 17.

A longtime legislative advocate with extensive experience in water-related issues, Davis represented the Santa Clara Valley Water District before the Legislature for 12 years. He managed the district's Government Relations Unit and worked on numerous bills related to water supply, flood control, safe drinking water, and state budget issues.

"Ron's wealth of experience and legislative knowledge will be a valuable addition to ACWA's state legislative program," ACWA Executive Director Steve Hall said. "He will be an effective voice and a strong advocate for our members at the Capitol."

Davis earned a law degree from Western State University College of Law in San Diego. Prior to his work at Santa Clara Valley Water District, he served as assistant executive director for the California Municipal Utilities Association and represented a number of private sector clients as a consultant.

ACWA is a statewide association whose 440 members are responsible for about 90% of the water delivered in California. For more information, visit www.acwanet.com.
