Rohm and Haas, Philadelphia, PA, and Elf Atochem, Paris, France, have signed a letter of intent whereby Elf Atochem will buy Rohm and Haas' 50% interest in the AtoHaas joint venture.

Simultaneously, Rohm and Haas and Elf Atochem have signed a letter of intent whereby Rohm and Haas will buy Elf Atochem's 50% interest in Norsohaas. Norsohaas was formed in 1989 for the production and sale of acrylic-based products.
