Rogue Wave Software to Add Support for AMD Opteron Processors and AMD64 Technology.

: AMD) to add AMD Opteron(TM) processor compatibility to its Rogue Wave(R) SourcePro(R) C++ product suite.

Under the agreement, Rogue Wave Software will add compatibility with AMD Opteron processors built on the AMD64 platform to its SourcePro(R) C++ Suite, Edition 7, and the forthcoming Edition 8. SourcePro C++ users will benefit from the additional hardware and platform choices at their disposal and will be able to develop both 32- and 64-bit applications on Single- and new Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors. AMD64 technology users will be able to use SourcePro C++ Edition 7 with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 and SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 8.1 operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap.  and SourcePro C++ Edition 8 with 8 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 and SuSe Linux A Linux distribution from the SuSE Linux division of Novell. Both consumer and enterprise versions are available, and the distribution includes several user interfaces. SuSE Linux comes with the Yet Another Setup Tool (YaST), which is used to install, configure and maintain the OS, as  Enterprise 9.0.

Both Single- and Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor users will have access to the Rogue Wave SourcePro tools to further speed application development and AMD64 application optimization by reusing the business logic in existing C++ applications.

SourcePro C++ Edition 7 with porting to AMD64 will be available during the summer of 2005. Current SourcePro C++ customers can gain access to the Opteron version of SourcePro by contacting their Rogue Wave Software account executive.
