IndustryWeek, a magazine of ideas for managers in industry, presented the award during a ceremony at Rockwell's Defense Electronics facility in El Paso.

The award recognized Rockwell's world-class manufacturing capabilities in many areas, including management practices, quality indicators, technology, employee involvement, manufacturing operations Manufacturing operations concern the operation of a facility, as opposed to maintenance, supply and distribution, health, and safety, emergency response, human resources, security, information technology and other infrastructural support organizations.  and customer focus.

IndustryWeek has nearly one million readers, and its focus is to provide today's managers with the resources and knowledge necessary to enable them to advance their businesses. The IndustryWeek award is presented annually to 10 manufacturing plants nationwide. Each plant participates in a rigorous selection process that requires detailed validation in management practices and manufacturing processes. This year's winners were selected by a panel of editors from more than 170 nominations and are profiled in the magazine's Oct. 16 issue as examples of what America is doing right in manufacturing.

During the recognition ceremony, Rockwell executives congratulated the approximately 250 El Paso employees for the award.

"Your work is appreciated by Rockwell and also by our customers, many of whom are represented here today," said John A. McLuckey, president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
