Rockwell Automation Leader to Speak on MES at ISA EXPO 2005.

, The Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society, announced today that Kevin Roach, VP of Software, Rockwell Automation and Chairman of MESA, will be a Keynote Speaker at ISA EXPO 2005 in Chicago, Illinois. Roach will deliver the opening keynote address for the annual automation + control conference on Tuesday, 25 October at 8:30 a.m.

The keynote is titled "MES-Coming of Age" and will focus on market trends and customer expectations driving the future of MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) Software that provides real time access to plant activities that include equipment, labor, orders and inventory. An MES integrates the data with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems so that management has complete control of . Roach will present his vision and road map for seamless integration between the plant floor and business systems, and the value customers can realize from that integration. As Chairman of MESA, he is uniquely qualified to present the charter of MESA, the need for collaborative MES, and describe the organization's role in educating and leveraging customer best practices to make manufacturers more competitive on a global level.

Prior to joining Rockwell Automation, Roach was associated with GE Fanuc Automation GE Fanuc Automation, Inc, a joint venture between FANUC LTD. of Japan and General Electric, is a business unit of GE Enterprise Solutions[2]. GE Fanuc is headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia.  North America beginning in 1998 where he served as the Vice President of CIMPLICITY Software. Later, he was appointed VP of GE Fanuc Global Solutions Business in 2001 where he led the software and solutions business unit of GE Infrastructure.

Roach has more than 20 years experience in the automation, control, robotics, software and services industry. His entrepreneurial background includes a startup company he formed called Interactive Process Controls Corporation, a system integration business with a focus on Robotics and Machine vision for use in flexible automation applications such as assembly, inspection and material handling. He then parlayed his initial success into a second profitable venture SensorPulse Corporation, focused on intelligent signal conditioning and I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device.
