Producer Jeff Trott Uses Rocket Network to Complete

Film Project With Sheryl Crow

Rocket Network's global production technology was used by award winning songwriter Jeff Trott during the completion of the soundtrack for the film, "Bridget Jones's Diary". In spite of the fact that the recording artist, Sheryl Crow, was in London, the mix engineer, David Tickle, was in Kauai, and the film production company deadline was just 48 hours away, co-producer Jeff Trott managed to meet his deadline on time and below cost because of Rocket Network.

Monday: Track mixed in Kauai

Jeff Trott, longtime collaborator with Grammy-winning artist Sheryl Crow, co-produced the track, "Kiss the Girl" for "Bridget Jones's Diary". It was being mixed on Monday by David Tickle in Kauai; approvals were needed from Jeff in Oregon and Sheryl in London, while the master mix and stems were required by the London film company, Working Title, and the A&R Department, Island Def Jam, in NYC by Wednesday.

Using Logic Audio Platinum with RocketPower(TM) on a Mac, David Tickle sent alternative mixes from Kauai to Jeff in Oregon using LogicRocket on a PC, and to the Strongroom in London which has Logic Audio Platinum installed on a Mac.

Tuesday: Feedback from London and Oregon, New Mixes Posted

Initially, it was thought that Sheryl Crow would record some additional vocals for the track but actually, only minor adjustments to the mix were required. Based on Sheryl and Jeff's comments, David Tickle sent new mixes via Rocket from Kauai.

Wednesday: Final approvals from London and Oregon. Master Mix and Stems to London and NYC

During the course of the approval process, six alternative mixes were posted over the Global Production Network. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, once the final approval came from Ms. Crow, the full-source backing tracks were sent over Rocket Network to London. The master mix and stems got to Working Title Films before lunchtime.

At the same time in New York, Island Def Jam was mastering the CD of the movie soundtrack and needed the mix. The master was posted to them using Rocket's "Mixdown" feature enabling them to review the mix and download the full-source file with just one mouse-click.

Finally, the mix was sent to Universal in LA, also using the Rocket "Mixdown" feature.

Jeff Trott, (www.jefftrott.com), is also using Rocket Network in the production of his solo album with David Tickle to be released later this year mixed in 5.1 DVD audio for DTS.
