Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers end West Coast tour at home.

The last time the Rock 'n' Roll rock 'n' roll: see rock music.  Soldiers played a homecoming gig at the WOW Hall, they sold out the place.

Now they're home while on tour in support of a new collection of some old material. "The Two EPs," released on the Atlantic-affiliated East West label, is a CD compilation CD Compilation is an independently released CD. It is the 10th issue of A Day In The Air zine. The CD includes a zine companion and a patch. The packaging was completely DIY and there were five hundred CDs released. This was the first A Day In The Air zine to contain a CD.  of two previously released vinyl EPs, "The High School Sessions" and `The Weak Blame the Strong."

The band's major label debut, "So Many Musicians to Kill,' is expected to be released later this year.

The Eugene-born punk band features vocalist Marty Larson-Xu, guitarist Kevin Sciou, drummer Oliver Brown Oliver Brown may refer to:
  • Oliver Brown (civil rights), the plaintiff in the case Brown v. Board of Education
  • Oliver Brown (baseball player), a Major League Baseball player
  • Oliver Brown (abolitionist), the son of John Brown (abolitionist)
 and bassist Evan Seroffsky, all friends since middle school.

The Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers will wrap up the Left Coast leg of its tour tonight at home. Then the band makes its way to Atlanta, where it kicks off an East Coast and Midwest tour that will wind its way back to Portland on June 6.

Joining the Soldiers for tonight's show is the Canadian hard rock band Danko Jones Danko Jones is a three-piece hard rock band from Toronto, Canada.

The band consists of Danko Jones (vocals/guitar), JC (also known as John Calabrese) (bass guitar), and Dan Cornelius (drums).

Rasine ShaShe

Today, Sam Bond's Garage

Rasine ShaShe will blend rhythm and jazz tonight at Sam Bond's Garage, 407 Blair Blvd., in a benefit for the Haitian Sustainable Development Sustainable development is a socio-ecological process characterized by the fulfilment of human needs while maintaining the quality of the natural environment indefinitely. The linkage between environment and development was globally recognized in 1980, when the International Union  Founda- tion.

The evening of music also will feature a 30-minute film presentation about the historical, cultural and current issues facing Haiti. The foundation is a Eugene-based nonprofit that helps community groups in rural Haiti.

Admission will be $5 to $20 on a sliding scale. The show will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, Agate Hall

The Cultural Forum at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. , along with KWVA-FM, has gathered up a gaggle of local bands for a showcase rock show.

Stacked, the Morning After and Sweater Club will lend their support to headliner One Point Star beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday at Agate Hall, 1787 Agate St.

Admission to this all-ages show is $2 for students and $5 for everyone else.

`Project Blowed'

10th Anniversary Tour

Monday, WOW Hall

"Project Blowed" was a 1994 compilation album that featured such then-unknown hip-hop acts as Abstract Rude, Mikah 9, C.V.E. and Rifleman Ellay Khule.

Now it is a record label and open mike workshop run by Aceyalone, who will join some of the other Project Blowed artists on the 10th anniversary tour that stops by the WOW Hall on Monday night.

Joining Aceyalone are Abstract Rude, Busdriver, Medusa, DJ Drez, Ellay Khule, C.V.E., Customer Service and Jah Orah.

The show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, available at the WOW Hall, CD & Game Exchange, CD World, House of Records, Taco Loco and the EMU ticket office. Day of show admission will be $18.

Umphrey's McGee

Wednesday, WOW Hall

Umphrey's McGee is a jam band on the rise.

After a killer 2004 - the cover of Relix magazine, a "band to watch" tag from Rolling Stone - '05 is shaping up just as nicely. The band nabbed three Jammy nominations and won the Chicago Music Awards' title as rock entertainer of the year.

The band will return to the WOW Hall on Wednesday for some more prog-rock, metal, funk, folk, jazz-fusion and straight up rock 'n' roll. Showtime is 9 p.m.

Tickets are $15, available in advance at the WOW Hall and its ticket outlets.

 duo T. Griffin Coraline will bring its self-described "porch techno" road show to Sam Bond's at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The duo - songwriter T. Griffin and violinist Catherine McRae - use loopers, toy samplers and "lowly Walkmans" to enhance their live performances.

The cover is $3.

Kyle Hollingsworth Band

Thursday, WOW Hall

Kyle Hollingsworth plays keys in a little jam band called the String Cheese Incident. But he's also a solo artist, on tour in support of his solo debut, "Never Odd or Even."

The music is called funk-oriented acid jazz. The experience will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, available at the WOW Hall and its outlets. At the door, admission is $12.
