Roche strikes deal with Memory Pharmaceuticals. (Supplier News).


Roche has acquired an exclusive worldwide license from Memory Pharmaceuticals to develop compounds for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. . Roche and Memory also will develop compounds within the same drug class for other indicators, such as depression. The first drug candidate for alzheimer's disease is scheduled to enter human clinical trial in the near future. Roche will make upfront, research and development, and milestone payments to Memory. If all potential milestones are achieved, the deal will amount to approximately $150 million (U.S.) Roche will also pay royalties to Memory.
