Modeling and Modernization Standards OMG's Analysis and Design Platform Task Force (PTF PTF - Program Temporary Fix ) will review draft specifications for a MOF(TM) 2.0 Facility and Lifecycle standard, MOF 2.0 Versioning and Development Lifecycle, Ontology Definition Metamodel, and UML(R) Profile for Systems Engineering. The Architecture-Driven Modernization PTF will review a draft specification for a Knowledge Discovery Metamodel Knowledge Discovery Metamodel (KDM) is publicly available specification from the Object Management Group (OMG). KDM is a common intermediate representation for existing software systems and their operating environments, that defines common metadata required for deep semantic . Software Infrastructure Standards Work The Middleware and Related Services PTF will review revised draft specifications for Quality of Service (QoS) for CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) A software-based interface from the Object Management Group (OMG) that allows software modules (objects) to communicate with each other no matter where they are located on a private network or the global (R) Components, Streams for CORBA Components, and Web Services for Enterprise Collaboration. If these drafts meet member requirements, they will start the series of votes leading to adoption. The Real-Time, Embedded, and Specialized Systems PTF will review revised draft specifications for High Performance Enablers and Model Based Testing and Debugging, and plans to start the series of votes leading to final adoption. This group will also start work on new adoption processes for Fault Tolerance for Minimum and Real-time CORBA systems, and a UML Profile for modeling of Real-Time, Embedded, and Specialized Systems. Industry-Specific Domain Standards Work The Business Enterprise Integration Domain Task Force (DTF) will review revised draft specifications for the Business Semantics of Business Rules standard. The C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) DTF will review revised draft specifications for a Generic Sonar Interface. The Finance DTF will work on requirements for their proposed electronic payment gateway architecture standard. The Healthcare DTF expects to complete its standards roadmap and start drafting requirements for its first MDA-based specification, working in liaison partnership with healthcare standards body HL7. The Life Science Research DTF will review a revised draft specification for a Biochemical Pathways representation.
