Robotic cartoning on display.
A fully integrated, automatic confectionery bar packing line, featuring the latest advances in robotic top load cartoning technology, will be the main attraction on the Bradman-Lake stand.
The central unit of the working demonstration will be the Group's medium speed LJ300M robotic collator/pick and place loader. The ABB Flex Picker will load 6 bars at a time into cartons fed from a new AMI erector developed by Bradman-Lake Germany. Cartons will be sealed on a compact lugless closer using the proven Flexible Carton Control system.
Individual choc bars to feed the cartoner will be flow wrapped at 200ppm on a Flowtronic 120 machine from Autowrappers, while packing the filled cartons of 6 bars for distribution will be a Europack shrinkwrapper. The stand will also be demonstrating total integration, from product infeed through to end-of-line packaging. Electronic motion controls and interactive touch screens by BLTechnology's info and control systems, now renamed Visda, will monitor real time performance and maintain peak line efficiency.
Progress through innovation is also shown by the other working exhibit on the stand, the fully automatic SL904 cartoner. This is designed for huge-scale end load operations at speeds up to 160cpm, and is available with robotic or barrel cam product loading. Servo drives power all functions, giving the option of continuous or intermittent running.
