Robin Haynes Named to Board of Directors of Greene County Bancshares.


GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Greene County Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:GCBS) today announced that Robin R. Haynes (age 42) has been named to the Company's Board of Directors. Haynes' appointment expands the Company's Board to include 12 directors.

Haynes is comptroller and corporate secretary for Delmar Haynes Pontiac GMC in Alcoa, Tennessee, a high-volume automobile dealer with more than $50 million in annual sales. She was recently named by General Motors Corporation as the official successor dealer/operator of that company, ensuring a smooth transition when her father, Delmar E. Haynes, retires.

Haynes attended the University of Tennessee The University of Tennessee (UT), sometimes called the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UT Knoxville or UTK), is the flagship institution of the statewide land-grant University of Tennessee public university system in the American state of Tennessee. , Knoxville, to complete basic college requirements before transferring to General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan, where she graduated with the Class of 1985 in the dealer development program.

Haynes is an active member of the Blount County community, serving on the board of directors for Blount Memorial Hospital since 1997. She currently is a member of the Knox/Blount Advisory Board for AmSouth Bank and has been an active member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville since 1992. She is involved in real estate development in Blount and Loudon Counties and is a loyal customer of American Fidelity Bank, one of Greene County Bancshares' banking units that serves Knox and Blount Counties. An equestrian in her spare time, she is a member of the American Saddlebred Association, the United Professional Horsemen's Association, and the National Equestrian Federation of the United States. A native of Knoxville, she currently resides in Alcoa.
