Robertson Stephens Reiterates Buy Rating on NTPA.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1999--

Robertson Stephens Senior eCommerce Analyst Rick Juarez today reiterated his Buy rating on Netopia, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTPA). The company, headquartered in Alameda, Calif., provides Internet and eCommerce infrastructure, which enables small to medium sized businesses to easily and cost-effectively access the Internet, establish a Web presence and conduct business and electronic commerce on the Web.

"We are reiterating our Buy rating on Netopia, following the company's announcement that it has been selected by Cendant to provide more than 4,500 Web-sites for their Travel Lodge, Days Inn, Ramada and Howard Johnson properties."

"Additionally, the company may be used by Cendant's access partner CAIS to provide CPE equipment which could provide additional upside to Netopia," said Juarez. "Cendant's selection of Netopia, coupled with Netopia's recent selection by Citigroup to be a preferred vendor on their newly launched "bizzed.com" small business portal, demonstrates the strength in company's hosting and hosted offering."

"We are maintaining our estimates pending further discussions with management and reiterate our 12-month price target of $55, based on 10 times 2000 revenues," said Juarez.
