The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John William "Billy" Roberts of Madison and the granddaughter of the late Mr. Earl J. Roberts and Mrs. Kirk Lilly Roberts of New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded , Louisiana, and Mrs. Faye Ross Godard of Columbia and the late Mr. John R. Godard of Hazlehurst. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burke Campbell "Bucky" Murphy Jr. of Canton and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Burke Camp bell Murphy of Fayette and the late Dr. John Robert Laird of Union and Mrs. Norma Dees Laird of Jackson. The groom's father, Burke Campbell Murphy Jr., served as best man. Groomsmen were William Leslie Arnold; John Paul Buckley; Jack Martin Morgan; John Robert Murphy, brother of the groom; Jason William Roberts, brother of the bride; and John Woodson Stringer. Attending the bride, as maid of honor was her sister, Lyndsay Karyl Roberts. Bridesmaids were Eliza Claire Hegwood; Regan Adele Howarth; Ellen Dees Murphy, sister of the groom; Ashley Elizabeth Ross; Carrie Virginia Smith; and Lee Anne Watson, cousin of the bride.
