) today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Robert S. Stone, 62, to the post of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective September 13, 1999. Mr. Stone succeeds Daniel S. Bishop, who has accepted the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at UNOVA Inc., located in Woodland Hills, CA.

Since 1997, Mr. Stone has been Of Counsel to the law firm of Jackson Lewis Schnitzler & Krupman, where he specialized in executive compensation and contracts, employee benefits and pension matters. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Stone had an extensive legal and executive career with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Corporation, retiring as Associate General Counsel and the Director of Stockholder Relations. Among other responsibilities at IBM, Stone was Vice President and General Counsel of IBM Credit Corporation and Acting Secretary of the Corporation. Additionally, he was lead in-house counsel on all IBM financing transactions from 1979 to 1994, and counsel to the Retirement Plans Committee of the IBM Board of Directors and to the Retirement Plan Trust Fund.
