Robert Coombe, the University of Denver's provost, was named to succeed DU Chancellor Dan Ritchie, a former business executive and philanthropist who has been credited with not only saving DU from financial failure, but undertaking a $400 million construction and renovation program that has transformed the South Denver DU campus.
