The Diamond Awards were part of 116 awards presented to member firms of ACEC New York. Tectonic was contracted by the NYSDOT NYSDOT New York State Department of Transportation to provide construction phase environmental oversight services for the 1-684/Route 22 Interchange (Exit 3) in Westchester County. One of the project's highest priorities was maintaining water quality because of it's proximity to one of New York City's most critical water supply source; the Croton croton, in botany croton (krō`tən), any of several species of Codiaeum that are widely cultivated as ornamentals and houseplants. The most popular species is C. Watershed in Westchester County. The project involved a complex reconstruction of the interchange accompanied by an extensive state-of-the-art erosion and sedimentation control system involving drainage improvements, erosion control and storm water management facilities to minimize and treat runoff. |
