Rite Aid nominates Leonard I. Green and William J. Bratton to fill new board seats.


CAMP HILL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1997--The Rite Aid board of directors Friday announced the nomination of two new members to the board: Leonard I. Green, 63, to a two-year term and William J. Bratton William Joseph 'Bill' Bratton is currently the 54th Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and was formerly Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, the only person to hold both positions. , 49, to serve a three-year term.

Green is senior partner of Leonard Green & Partners, a Los Angeles-based investment firm he founded in 1989, which specializes in leveraged buyouts. Previously, he was a partner at Gibbons, Green, Van Amerongen in New York, a merchant banking firm.

Green is a graduate of Cornell University and the Wharton Graduate School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania (body, education) University of Pennsylvania - The home of ENIAC and Machiavelli.

Bratton is vice chairman of First Security Services Corp. in Boston and president of its New York subsidiary, First Security Consulting Inc. He spent 27 years of his career in public law enforcement, capped by his appointment in 1994 as the 38th police commissioner of the city of New York.

He also has served as Chief of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is "a body politic and corporate, and a political subdivision" of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts [1] formed in 1964 to finance and operate most bus, subway, commuter rail and ferry systems in the greater  Police, Superintendent of the Metropolitan District Commission Police, and as both Commissioner and Superintendent of Police for the city of Boston.
