Rite Aid Corporation Pledges $1 Million to the Regional Performing Arts Center.


PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1998--Mayor Ed Rendell Edward Gene "Ed" Rendell (born January 5 1944) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. The Rite Aid pledge supports Mayor Rendell's vision to create a European-style arts district and is in keeping with the company's philosophy to be active partners in the communities and neighborhoods where it conducts business.

Over the past three years, Rite Aid has contributed nearly $1.5 million to diverse community groups and organizations that work to make Philadelphia a city that cares about its people and its cultural heritage. "Contributing to the construction of the cultural and performing arts complex is a natural fit for Rite Aid," Grass went on to say.
