Rita M. Quimby, 68.

HUBBARDSTON Rita M. (Lohnes) Quimby, 68, of Hubbardston and a former 40 year resident of Chelmsford, died on Saturday, March 29, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Melvin G. Quimby, who survives her.

She was born on July 17, 1939 in Lowell, the daughter of Byron Lohnes of Moultonborough, NH and the late Rita (Mailhot) Lohnes. She received her education in the Billerica School System and was a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School Class of 1957. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband and father, she is survived by a son, Mark Quimby and his wife, Betsy of Chelmsford; a daughter, Cheryl Rosko and her husband Michael of West Townsend, and six grandchildren, Erin Quimby, Mark Quimby Jr., Christopher, Brett, Ashley and Cory Rosko. She was the sister of Gloria Morris and her husband, Whitey of N. Chelmsford and Byron Lohnes Jr. of Plympton. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Lauren Quimby who died in 1968; a sister, Betty Ingersoll and a brother, Gary Lohnes.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, MA 01824. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Church, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Rita's name to the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, c/o Gillette Center for Gynecological Oncology, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
