Risk retention groups keep growing.


Risk retention groups continued to show strong results through fiscal year 2005, according to the A.M. Best Co. Special Report Risk Retention Groups Continue to Sustain Operating Profitability. The comments in this report refer only to rated risk retention groups. A risk retention group is an association-sponsored company formed by an affinity group A special interest group. This is a marketing term for a group of people with similar interests. to provide liability insurance to the group's members as provided under the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986.
