Ricoh Silicon Valley, Inc. today unveiled the eCabinet(TM), an information management solution targeted to solve the daily document management needs of small businesses and corporate department workgroups. Ricoh's eCabinet is the world's first affordable, centralized product for automatically capturing, filing and retrieving documents from virtually any source -- such as e-mails, faxes, Web-content, photocopies, scans and PC documents.
The eCabinet is Ricoh's flagship information management solution. This revolutionary product combines the strength of office networks, the Internet and advanced thin-server technology to create an integrated system that allows workgroups to easily manage both electronic and paper documents. Office workflow information is routed through eCabinet and automatically captured with state-of-the-art OCR and indexing technology. Once documents are stored in the reliable, secure and flexible database, they can then be instantly searched and retrieved through the convenient eCabinet Web user interface--based on content, date, owner or assigned keyword. Because eCabinet simply plugs into an office network and is built on open interfaces and protocols, it is easily configured to seamlessly capture all information created and exchanged by leading office peripherals and the Internet.
