DEBRIS INC Debris Inc Candlelight (Rise Above)--Dave Chandler (St. Vitus) & Ron Holzner's (Trouble) outfit disseminates punk and doom ideology. These guys were around the LA punk scene that they hold dear but at the same time Dave helped birth the brand of doom metal only St.Vitus can deliver. It's a wild ride of classic punk serenades, a couple of the slow heavies, and seriously muddy production.

KYLESA To Walk a Middle Course (Prosthetic Records)--Hailing from Savannah, GA, with ex-Damad members at the helm of this kryptonie sludge crust outfit. To Walk a Middle Course lays it down hard, fast, and channels mid-tempo excavations of blackened power riffing. Their signature gang vocals put the bang back into the core. Brutal dissonance to live by, check all their releases.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE Anomalies (Relapse)--Quite a varied landscape offered here on the fourth full-length from Denver's premium grindmasters, Chunky doomed passages and straight up heavyassrock elements disengage from the norm as the title suggests. Mind you, the hyperblasting grind is what their commanding recipe is, but I love it when they erupt into slow-moving, molten-lava, scorching jagged crevices into my pitiful flesh.

WETNURSE s/t (Self Release)--NYC mayhem swings the perpetual pendulum of barraging metal-core. In the face anthems explode in a forceful bliss of chaos with bi-polar fanatical vocals (painful). If you like bands like Swarm of the Lotus, Anodyne, Sweet Cobra and Cream Abdul Barbar etc, this is a must.

BUZZOV*EN Welcome to Violence (Alternative Tentacles)--A gem from the past. Welcome to Violence employs a collection of their first Allied recordings, which stand out as their signature corrosive crustcore era bathing in depression and self-demise. They just crushed it live; Buzzoven were the darker side of what bands like COC and such ever had to offer.
