Richards in crash scare.

EXCLUSIVE by IAN GIBB

DEAN RICHARDS, Wolves' England under-21 captain, cheated death in a motorway smash - after earning rave reviews against Tottenham in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The central defender somehow emerged with a badly bruised ankle after skidding on black ice.

Wolves assistant boss Colin Lee told me: "It looks as though he is lucky to be alive. Dean was driving back to Bradford when his car hit a patch of black ice.

"The car skidded into a lampost and the door on his side was caved in. Somehow he got out with just a badly bruised ankle.''
