Richard H. Sullenger of Bakersfield, Calif. was elected President of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT MDRT Million Dollar Round Table ) for 2003. He assumes the position as the 77th president for the worldwide organization on September 1, 2002, until his term expires August 31, 2003.

Sullenger, president of Sullenger Financial Group, has been a general agent with GenAmerica Financial, a MetLife affiliate, for more than 25 years. "GenAmerica is honored to be associated with Richard, one of our long-time partners and top producers," said Dick Miller, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of GenAmerica Financial. "Richard always demonstrates the highest level of ethical standards and is a role model for many. His role as MDRT President will make a significant impact on the organization and financial services industry," added Miller.

As President of the five-member MDRT Executive Committee, Sullenger's goals are to significantly increase domestic membership, promote branding opportunities for MDRT and strengthen participation in MDRT's mentoring program. During the next 12 months, he will travel the world speaking to MDRT members, non-members and company officials at local meetings and industry events.

A significant contributor to the MDRT Foundation as a Bronze Knight, Sullenger is a 31-year Round Table qualifier with seven Court of the Table (COT) and six Top of the Table (TOT) honors, designations reserved for producers who have demonstrated exceptional professional knowledge, client service and ethical conduct.

Sullenger was the 1999 MDRT Millennium Task Force Chair, in addition to the 1987 Membership Communications Committee Chair. He has served on the Membership Communication and Program Development committees, as well as the Annual Meeting Long-Range Planning, Program General Arrangements and Family Time Task Forces. Sullenger is also one of only 43 members who have attended 30 or more consecutive MDRT Annual Meetings.

He is also a member of the Hall of Fame of both the Jackson and Mississippi Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
