Richard Meier residential design earns top AIA honor.165 Charles Street Charles Street is the name of a north-south street in the city center of Boston, Massachusetts. It begins in the north at Leverett Circle, where it intersects Cambridge Street and Storrow Drive, and gives its name to the Charles/MGH station of the MBTA. , the Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP-designed 16 story glass condominium tower located in Manhattan's West Village, was awarded the AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Chapter 2005 Housing Design Award for technical and architectural innovation as well as its subtle and sensitive relationship to its context and the natural environment. Developed by Alexico Management, Inc., 165 Charles Street overlooks the Hudson River, affording each of the 31 residences extraordinary views and sunset vistas. Divided by a central spine into a pair of three bedroom apartments per floor including a stunning duplex penthouse, 165 Charles-Street is a complete Richard Meier creation. Meier designed the exterior and interiors including the living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and all details as well as building amenities including private wine cellar and professional screening room that accommodates 35 with theater seats originally designed by Meier for the Getty Museum and a sunken, natural light-filled double-height atrium with private fitness center, 50-foot infinity-edge pool and 15-foot water wall.
