Richard Gearheard to Head Agrium Retail Business Unit.CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1996--Agrium Inc. (TSE:AGU;NASDAQ:AGMIF) has named Richard L. Gearheard as Vice President, Retail and an officer of the Company. Mr. Gearheard will be responsible for all aspects of Agrium's Retail Business Unit. A native of Enid Enid (ē`nĭd), city (1990 pop. 45,309), seat of Garfield co., N central Okla.; inc. 1893. It is an important trade and processing center for an area rich in wheat, dairy cattle, poultry, and oil. There are flour mills, food-processing plants, and many oil-related industries in the city., Oklahoma, Mr. Gearheard earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University, at Stillwater; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1890, opened 1891 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1957. It has centers for laser research, integrated design and manufacturing, biotechnology, and environmental sciences.. His extensive experience in all aspects of the agricultural retail business dates from 1973, when he joined a predecessor company of Crop Production Services Inc., later acquired by Agrium. Mr. Gearheard has held a number of increasingly responsible operating and financial management positions and, at the time of his current appointment, was Vice President of Agrium Retail's Northwest Region. Mr. Gearheard and his wife Pat have two children. He will be located at Agrium Retail's headquarters in Denver.
