Rhonda Ringering Awarded American Music Teacher Article of the Year.

The American Music Teacher Article of the Year Award is presented to the author of an outstanding feature article written expressly for the AMT. This year's award is presented to Rhonda Ringering, for her article "Keeping the Beat: How to Teach Classical Piano Students to Play with a Jazz Band." The article was published in the April/May 2009 issue.

Ringering, NCTM, of Forest Grove, Oregon, is a pianist, writer and instructor. Along with AMT, her articles have appeared in Clavier, Flute Talk, Piano & Keyboard and many other publications. She teaches classical and jazz piano and small jazz ensembles class for Pacific University of Oregon. As a pianist, Ringering has released three solo CDs and is also a member of the Ringering/Wheeler Piano Duo.
