Rheometrics reported a net loss of $1.7 million during its second quarter, and sales of $4.5 million. The company recorded a loss of $3.8 million for the first six months of its fiscal year, ended December 31. Sales totaled $8.5 million for the period.

For the seventh consecutive year, Rubbermaid has ranked in the top 10 on Fortune Magazine's listing of most admired corporations in America. The Wooster, OH maker of rubber and plastics housewares products finished in the number two place for the second year in a row, up from third place in 1990. The rating is based on Fortune's annual survey of more than 8,000 senior executives, outside directors and financial analysts.
