Earnings Reports: Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer Inc. reported a net loss of $121.8 million, compared to a loss of $61.3 million for the like period a year ago. Revenues rose to $336.9 million from 274.9 million the year earlier. Ticketmaster, which sells tickets and operates an online dating service A Net dating service, also known as online dating or Internet dating, is an example of a dating system and allows individuals, couples and groups to meet online and possibly develop a romantic or sexual relationship. , reported second-quarter net income of $14.7 million, compared with a net loss of $29.5 million for the like period a year ago. Second-quarter revenues were $212.5 million, up from $187 million. 99 Cents Only Stores Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $13.5 million, compared with $10.9 million for the like period a year ago. Sales for the City of Commerce-based discount chain rose 23 percent, to $167.9 million. Avery Dennison Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) produces pressure-sensitive materials (such as self-adhesive labels), office products, and various paper products. R. Stanton Avery founded Avery in 1935. Avery Dennison Corporation was created in 1990 by merger of Avery and Dennison.  Corp. reported second-quarter net income of $73.8 million, compared with $59.8 million for the like period a year ago. The Pasadena-based maker of labels and adhesive products had sales of $1.05 billion vs. $960.8 million. Unocal Corp. reported second-quarter net income of $114 million, compared with $247 million for the like period a year ago. The El Segundo-based oil company saw revenues fall 39 percent, to $2.4 billion. Occidental Petroleum Occidental Petroleum Corporation ("Oxy") NYSE: OXY is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, Middle East/North Africa and Latin America regions.  Corp. reported second-quarter net income of $240 million, compared with $473 million for the like period a year ago. Revenue for the Los Angeles-based oil company fell 18 percent, to $3.1 billion. Activision Inc. reported second quarter net income of $20.7 million, compared with $29,000 for me like period a year ago. Sales for the Santa Monica-based video game developer rose to $191.3 million from $110 million. Jakks Pacific Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $7.8 million, compared with $6.9 million for the like period a year ago. Revenue for the Malibu-based toy maker rose 13 percent, to $79 million. Jakks also announced it had fired 48 employees, or 15 percent of its workforce, to reduce costs. Weilpoint Health Networks Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $170.7 million, compared with $99.9 million for the like period a year ago. Revenue for t he Thousand Oaks-based health provider rose 37 percent, to $4.2 billion.

Review Renewed: Regulators said they had again taken up the proposed purchase of Hughes Electronics by EchoStar Communications Corp. Each stage is a progression through an abnormally low and progressively worse glomerular filtration rate, which is . Amgen reported second-quarter net income of $412 million, compared with $322 million for the like period a year ago. Revenue increased 27 percent, to $1.2 billion.
