Reuters sells bridge trading and acquires HedgeWorld & Tass Research.

The business of HedgeWorld will be acquired from a consortium of private investors, including Tremont. Established in 1999, the acquired company is a provider of news, data and research for the global hedge fund and alternative investments industries. It has a client base of 55,000 institutional and high-net-worth investors, professional advisors, fund managers and industry service providers.

TASS Research produces and maintains hedge fund databases which provide information on over 6600 hedge funds. Reuters said that Tremont will continue to manage and maintain the databases and will retain the right to use the data as is presently does.
