infrastructures. Reuters Tick Capture Engine will meet customer requirements to capture and store large amounts of streaming and historical data for real-time analysis and decision making.

Reuters Tick Capture Engine, which is powered by Vhayu Technologies, allows the capture and analysis of high speed streaming content across multiple market venues, as well as building a historical view for detailed analysis and back testing back testing

 of algorithmic strategies.

Reuters Tick Capture Engine is a complementary capability to the recently launched Reuters-managed direct feed service Reuters Data Feed Direct meets customer demand for ultra low latency Low latency allows human-unnoticeable delays between an input being processed and the corresponding output providing real time characteristics. This can be especially important for internet connections utilizing services such as online gaming and VOIP - VOIP is not as important as  exchange feeds to fuel their automated trading environments. Reuters Tick Capture Engine will support Reuters Data Feed Direct as well as support for the Reuters consolidated feeds which today offers the broadest set of global, cross-asset data. In addition, Reuters Tick Capture Engine will integrate with the Reuters Market Data System (RMDS RMDS Reuters Market Data System

) platform that currently supports direct connection to 70 global sources of data feeds as well as customer created publishers for their proprietary data. RMDS is deployed world wide as a low latency, high performance ticker plant inside of banks, brokers and hedge funds.

Marie Giangrande, VP Strategic Alliances for Reuters, said: "Now, Reuters customers can capture the market. With this product customers will be able to capture, tick by tick, a deeper and broader set of market data - commingled with their in-house proprietary data to feed sophisticated real-time algorithmic trading strategies."

Reuters Tick Capture Engine will support real-time streaming analytics published directly from the Reuters Tick Capture Engine onto RMDS for real-time consumption and display in all downstream applications.

Reuters customers have deployed approximately 50,000 applications as well as hundreds of third party applications on Reuters Market Data Systems. This publishing feature will allow real-time streaming analytics to be immediately compatible with existing applications that are consuming data from RMDS.
