I WISH to bring to the attention of your readers the existence of the TS Vindicatrix Association.

The Vindicatrix was a training ship based at Sharpness, Gloucestershire, where thousands of boys trained for the Merchant Navy from 1939 to 1966.

Our association is well established and each year we hold a reunion at Sharpness when several hundred attend. We enjoy a regular newsletter and many things have been achieved over the last 10 years in an effort to see the old ship and that period of our lives are not forgotten. Anyone interested can contact me, the correspondence secretary, at the address below or telephone (02392) 583 896.

BRUCE WILLIAMS, Lanyard Drive, Rowner, Gosport.

I AM keen to contact an old Army friend, John Elliot, who was from or near, North Shields. As members of the Royal Signals we met at Scarborough in 1940 and later by accident on active service in Egypt.

It was only a brief meeting but was supplemented by letter exchange and his last contact point was with 531 Live Section in 1944. At this time I was with The War Graves Commission. Any contact with friends or relatives would be gratefully appreciated.
