In 2000, hip-hop artists Planet Asia Planet Asia also known as King Medallions (real name Jason Green) is an underground rapper from Fresno, California who is a member of hiphop groups the Cali Agents, and Skhool Yard. He is also well known for his vast discography of mixtapes.  and Rasco released `How the West Was One' under the moniker (1) A name, title or alias. See alias.

Both agents have since ventured onto successful solo paths. But they will reunite Wednesday at the WOW Hall for a show with Casual, Flii Stylz, DJ E-Rock and local group Three Blind Mics, all in town as part of the Gold Chains Gold Chains is an electro rap artist from San Francisco, whose real name is Topher Lafata. Gold Chains has performed along with Sue Cie (real name Sue Costabile), who is a video artist also from San Francisco area.  Tour.

The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance at CD World, House of Records and other WOW Hall outlets, and $12 at the door.

Souls of Mischief Souls of Mischief is a four member alternative hip hop group from Oakland, California, that is also part of the hip hop collective, Hieroglyphics. The Souls of Mischief formed in 1993 and is comprised of emcees A-Plus, Opio, Phesto, and Tajai.

The four emcees of Souls of Mischief will come together with Awol One Awol One (Tony Martin) is a California-based rapper/underground MC.

Awol One has gained a following in the underground hip hop world with tracks like "Rhythm". He has worked with such artists as KRS-One, Kool Keith, Daddy Kev, Fat Jack, Mike Nardone, Mascaria, Jizzm,
 featuring D-Styles and Daddy Kev Daddy Kev (born 1974 in Los Angeles) is a prolific producer, recording engineer and record label owner who has contributed to hundreds of musical recordings in the underground hip-hop and electronic genres. , with local favorites Genus Pro and Three Blind Mics for the show at John Henry's.

The Souls of Mischief, out of Oakland, are also members of the Hieroglyphics. According to their bio on yahoo.com, they have drawn comparisons to De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest A Tribe Called Quest is a critically acclaimed and highly-influential American hip-hop group, formed in 1988. The group is composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (Kamal Fareed), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad.  "for their abstract, whimsical style of storytelling."

Tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door, and are available at CD World, House of Records, the Erb Memorial Union ticket office and John Henry's, 77 W. Broadway.

Reignition Vol. 13

Today, WOW Hall

The local rock parade keeps rocking along. For its 13th installment, the Reignition series features F. Capone, PB Army, One Down Enough and Guest Check.

All band proceeds from Reignition events go toward improving sound and lights at the WOW Hall. Tickets are $5, and the music starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Prix

California's the Prix will bring its pop-rock sound to Luckey's, 933 Olive St., opening tonight for Armored Frog the Test Face.

Craig Wedren

Saturday, World Cafe

Billboard.com calls Craig Wedren, former front man for Shudder to Think, a "cult favorite art rock act."

Shudder to Think disbanded in the mid-1990s, and then Wedren took a break. He's back with a solo project "Lapland," backed by his band the Dead Science, which has toured with Xiu Xiu.

The all-ages show at the World Cafe, 449 Blair Blvd., costs $5 at the door. The music starts at 8 p.m.

Buckethead

Buckethead's official story is that he was raised in a barnyard coop and learned to play guitar to keep the chickens entertained.

Something drove him to burn down the coop and flee with his feathered friends to a new sanctuary, according to a WOW Hall press release.

Hmm. OK, here are some irrefutable irrefutable - The opposite of refutable.  facts about the enigmatic performer who dons a mask and wears a fried chicken bucket on his head while performing.

He's played with Guns 'N Roses, Primus, Cobra Strike, Deli Creeps, Cornbugs and Praxis. Altogether, he has released more than 13 albums.

The latest is "Enter the Chicken," which was released on Oct. 25. It boasts contributions from Saul Williams, Bad Acid Trip, Gigi and Shana Halligan, among others.

Producer Serj Tankian (System of a Down) calls it "the most diverse rock record this year."

Tickets are $15 in advance or $17 at the door. The chicken dance begins at 9 p.m.

The Derek Trucks Band

Blues-rock guitarist Derek Trucks is the youngest person to make the Rolling Stone Magazine's list of top 100 guitarists of all time.

Still in his 20s, Trucks has been carving a musical legacy since age 12. The Derek Trucks Band released the studio album "Songlines" on Feb. 7, and it is the first to feature Mike Mattison, who joined the band more than three years ago.

A Taboo press release says the 10-years-young band blends jazz, rock, blues, Latin, Eastern Indian and other world music into a sound that now defines them.

Singer-songwriter Jon Nich- olson, part of the loose Nashville artist collective known as the MuzikMafia, will open for the Derek Trucks Band. Tickets are $19 in advance or $22 at the door.

The duo of Kim Trenerry and Jason Mogi performed twice in Eugene in 2005. It combines roots music with cutting-edge arrangements, according to a press release.

The Revival released its first CD in June. The self-titled album features 10 original songs and three covers.

Influences include Gillian Welch, Old Crow Medicine Show, the Be Good Tanyas and the Reeltime Travelers.
