High-tech photo firm, Digital Color Technologies has leased 10,000 s/f at 1001 Avenue of the Americas, Murray Hill Murray Hill may refer to one of the following places:
  • Murray Hill, Kentucky
  • Murray Hill, Manhattan, a residential neighborhood in New York City
  • Murray Hill, Queens, a different locality in New York City
  • Murray Hill, New Jersey
  • Murray Hill, Pennsylvania
 Properties announced.

Murray Hill's Barry Zuckerman represented DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) An algorithm that is widely used for data compression. Similar to Fast Fourier Transform, DCT converts data (pixels, waveforms, etc.) into sets of frequencies. The first frequencies in the set are the most meaningful; the latter, the least.  in the 10-year lease for the entire 5th floor of the Helmsely Spear-owned building. Helmsely's Leon Poll repped the landlord.

The tenant--which carries out digital retouching for some of the city's biggest publications and ad agencies--is moving its operations from 375 Fifth Avenue.

 Zuckerman, DCT chose 1001 Avenue of the Americas for its avenue address, 24/7 operation for HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) In the home or small office with a handful of computers, HVAC is more for human comfort than the machines. In large datacenters, a humidity-free room with a steady, cool temperature is essential for the trouble-free , full floor identity, heavy floor loads and large freight elevators which can accommodate the firm's 2000 lb Kodak digital retouching equipment, of which they have five.

The aggregate rental for the deal is $2.5 million and the tenant has agreed to do the buildout in exchange for rent concessions from the landlord.
