Retail experts to discuss what's in store for 2006.


The Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) will present a panel of retail specialists who will provide their distinctive perspectives on what's in store for New York City New York City: see New York, city.
New York City

City (pop., 2000: 8,008,278), southeastern New York, at the mouth of the Hudson River. The largest city in the U.S.
 retailers at a Tuesday, November 1 luncheon at Club 101, 101 Park Avenue at 40th Street.

 Business, the panelists will include Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, Retail Leasing & Sales Division, Prudential Douglas Elliman, who will provide a retail broker's broad market overview; and Michael H. Ratner, chairman, Richter+Ratner Contracting Corp., who will discuss high end luxury retail. A big box retailer is also expected to be added to the panel.

Elisabeth Butler writes articles about trends in the retail and apparel industries and contributes to Crain's New York Business's weekly real estate column.

Faith Hope Consolo is among the most renowned retail brokers and consultants in the country, not only because of the volume, size and distinction of her transactions, but also because of her extraordinary knowledge of New York City.

She has advised and encouraged many retailers as they emerged as major players in the City and has worked on transforming troubled neighborhoods into sought-after shopping districts.

She has served as management consultant on the transformation Times Square and Penn Station and is recognized as a key player in Fifth Avenue's return as the "Luxury Walk" and Madison Avenue's achieving its glitter as the "Golden Mile."

Michael H. Ratner is the chairman of Richter+Ratner (R+R) Contracting Corp., a general contracting and construction management company based in New York City.

Founded in 1912, R+R is now a third-generation business that builds retail, commercial, institutional and residential projects with a strong focus on high-end retail work.
