Retail Services Group L.L.C. (RSG), a Houston-based convenience store computer systems integration and application development firm, announced today that its parent company Digital Consulting Software and Services named three new directors to it board. The appointees include Pizza Hut co-founder Daniel M. Carney, Leland D. Putterman, who launched Oracle's Texas sales office and Richard A. Hosley II, who joined BMC software in 1980 as their first sales person.

Carney currently serves as chairman of the board for the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation (CPRF). CPRF and DCSS co-own DCSS Ability, L.L.C. In 1958, Carney and his brother, Frank, founded Pizza Hut Inc. He served as chairman of the board and president from 1956 to 1970 and continued as chairman of the board through 1973. Carney later served on the board of directors through 1977 when Pepsico Inc. acquired Pizza Hut. Following the PepsiCo merger, Carney has directed his activity toward private investment and philanthropic activities. Carney was born in Kansas City, Mo., and educated at Wichita University in Kansas.

Richard A. (Rick) Hosley II was one of the original employees of BMC Software, joining the company in 1980 as its first salesperson. Hosley progressed to BMC's vice president of sales and marketing and eventually president. Under his leadership, BMC grew from four employees and less than $1 million in revenues in 1980 to 500 employees and $100 million revenues with a 30 percent pre-tax margin ten years later. The sales team grew from one (himself) to one hundred during that same period, with offices in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Japan. For the three years before going public in 1987, BMC Software was on Inc. Magazine's list of fastest-growing, privately held companies.

Hosley began his career in sales and sales management in 1971 with Proctor and Gamble. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. degree in economics. In 1974, he joined IBM and later followed IBM systems engineer and high school friend John Moores to BMC, which Moores founded in 1980.

Born and raised in Houston, Leland D. Putterman helped launch Oracle's Texas sales office in 1985. After several management roles at Oracle, including sales management and vice president of product marketing, Putterman joined BMC Software in 1994. While at BMC he was vice president of marketing and later an executive officer of the company. In that role, Putterman helped the marketing organization grow from eight people to 275 people worldwide and watched sales jump from $288 million a year to over $1 billion. Leland retired from BMC in 1998 and currently invests in several Internet companies. He serves as vice chairman and a member of the board of directors for Service 911 and sits on the board of directors for BindView Development Corporation and CompuBank. Putterman graduated with honors from Princeton University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
