Retail Pro Unveils 7.42 At MAGIC International; Point-of-Sale, Inventory-Control Software Features Windows-Based Enhancements.

CARMICHAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1998--Retail Technologies International will unveil the newest general release of its successful retail point-of-sale (POS) and inventory-control system software, Retail Pro(R) 7.42 at the MAGIC International Show from August 31 to September 3 in Las Vegas.

The new program will be on display at IBM booth no. 51752 in WWDMAGIC. Retail Pro can also be seen at booth SE 71732 in Young Mens and K3289 in Kids Fashions.

The Retail Pro software is a comprehensive, cost-effective system recognized by the National Retail Federation (NRF) for operations ranging from small, single stores to large, multi-store environments. It is currently used worldwide by more than 5,000 businesses with more than 14,000 retailers in 45 countries, including retail world giants Calvin Klein Europe, Christian Dior, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton and United Colors of Benneton.

Retail Pro 7.42 features among its primary enhancements several 32-bit Windows modules and an Open Data Base (SQL and ODBC-compliant). The new Windows modules deliver Internet Ready polling, a graphical accounting link and cutting edge EDI integration. The new features deliver the power of big store management to the independent retailer, while the Open Merchandise Data Base (OMDB) increases the range of available merchandise reports with a highly efficient consolidated database of stock activity.

Retail Pro 7 supports up to one million current inventory items, up to 240 stores per region and 240 user-defined price levels, and unlimited customers. The system's OMDB enables custom reports to be formatted in any desired layout or style by converting Retail Pro data into a database form that can be read by other reporting programs, such as Crystal(R) Reports and similar programs.
