The exhibition and Grand Prix were held with a view to eliciting outstanding works of art and discovering new artists, with "Japan's Beautiful Seasons; Urban Landscapes" taken as this year's theme. Entrants were recieved in 24 categories and in 8 genres. Following intensive scrutiny, the final round of judging was completed on June 9, and the results for each category were announced today.
