FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE

Though best known for its banquet spaces, frequently used for weddings, the Casino Espanol also offers two restaurants, which offer a variety of Spanish, Mexican and international culinary choices. Romantic guests might appreciate the serenade serenade [Ital. sera=evening], term used to designate several types of musical composition. Opera and song literature yield numerous examples of the serenade sung or played by a lover at night beneath his beloved's window; outstanding is  of traditional mariachi mariachi

, while others may choose to enjoy their meal--and wine, of course--al fresco fresco (frĕs`kō) [Ital.,=fresh], in its pure form the art of painting upon damp, fresh, lime plaster. In Renaissance Italy it was called buon fresco to distinguish it from fresco secco,  on the terrace.

L'Albufera

Paseo de la Reforma Paseo de la Reforma (a Spanish-language name that roughly translates as "Promenade of the Reform") is a 12 km long grand avenue in Mexico City, Mexico. For Spanish food in a chic setting, D.O. might hit the spot. The bar offers a casual tapas menu accompanied by wine and cocktail offerings. A more extensive dinner menu awaits inside diners. FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE

A descendant of the Spanish original of the same name, founded in 1725 and touted as the oldest restaurant in the world, Restaurante Botin offers guests 85 percent of the dishes from Spain's Botin. The menu focuses on traditional Spanish food. The interior is rich and warm: Shawls hang from the mezzanine and wine bottles haunt dark wood alcoves.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Restaurante Botin has two rooms for 30 or 40 people available for private gatherings.
