Col. Condesa, Mexico City

Tel.: (5)211-9020

"Fresh" is a word batted around a lot by restaurants, but La Vineria takes it seriously--it doesn't even have a freezer. Being a wine bar, the list is of course extensive with options from most wine-producing regions in the world.

Iman

Presidente Masaryk 410

Col. Polanco, Mexico City

Tels.: (5)281-4631, 4412, 5413

The culinary mix of ingredients from two different cultures can result either in ecstasy or disaster. Iman definitely falls into the former category, with the hybrid creation of new colors, flavors and textures that delight. Our meal was proof that Iman is another star in the growing global cuisine movement that is taking Mexico City by storm.

Hotel Camino Real, Mariano Escobedo 700, Col. Nuevo Anzures

Tel.: (5)545-7231

The original Centre Castellano could learn something from its new, more attractive branch at the Hotel Camino Real. Perhaps the managers of the Calle Uruguay location have grown complacent, deciding to coast on its reputation. Whatever the case, it deserves a pass.

Au Pied de Cochon

Hotel Presidente Inter-Continental

Campos Eliseos 218, Col. Polanco, Mexico City
