Resonate Teams With Support Network for Battered Women to Increase Awareness of Domestic Violence.

October 2002 is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Support Network, serving Santa Clara County, California, provides support services to battered women their children and their families, including a 24-hour toll-free crisis line, support groups, counseling, legal assistance, residential shelter, children's program, information and referrals, and community education.

Resonate has made a donation to the Support Network through the Resonate Foundation. The Resonate Foundation was established with the mission of making a significant impact in the arts, arts education and areas of critical need. Resonate is committed to being an asset in the communities where Resonate employees live and work.

Serving Santa Clara County for 23 years, the Support Network has responded to the families devastated by domestic violence by providing comprehensive bi-lingual services to battered women and their children. The Support Network is the only organization of its kind in Santa Clara County that offers a legal program. Staff attorneys and a bilingual legal advocate assist clients with restraining orders, family law advice appointments, victim advocacy, and court accompaniment. The Support Network also offers a unique Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program. Trained high school students provide workshops to their peers on subjects such as power and control, growing up in an abusive family, gender roles, community responses, how to help friends and family members in abusive relationships and building healthy relationships.

In addition to its donation to the Support Network for Battered Women, Resonate is also participating in the Donate a Phone campaign. The goal of the program is to collect old wireless phones so that they may be refurbished for victims of domestic violence. These phones will provide survivors of domestic violence with a lifeline in an emergency. Resonate is collecting wireless phones from Resonate employees and their families for this program.
