PARDEE HOMES 

PARDEE Homes had a busy 2001. After spending last year at No. 3 on the San Fernando Valley Business Journal list of largest residential real estate developers, Pardee started marketing homes at its newest subdivision, Chambord in Oak Park and three more master-planned communities in Camarillo, allowing it to jump into the No. 1 slot.

The Los Angeles-based homebuilder more than doubled the number of homes sold in the Greater San Fernando Valley from 214 in 2000 to 530 in 2001. Revenues collected in the Business Journal's coverage area jumped from $71.2 million in 2000 to $198.5 million in 2001.

Along with Chambord in Oak Park and the subdivisions in Camarillo, Pardee also is selling homes at two communities in Santa Clarita and one in Palmdale. Besides the Santa Clarita and Conejo valleys, the developer builds and sells homes in the Riverside, Orange County and Las Vegas markets.

JUST as buying patterns among those looking to purchase new homes ebbs and flows, so do the fortunes of developers marketing to them.

Pardee Homes jumped this year to No.1 on the San Fernando Valley Business Journal's list of top residential real estate developers from No. 3 on last year's list. With the opening of its Chambord subdivision in Oak Park, Pardee more than doubled the number of homes it sold in the area.
