The largest hotel in downtown Nashville, the Renaissance features 673 guest rooms, more than 205,000 square feet of meeting, exhibit and banquet space, and 45 separate function rooms. Reputation for Quality

"To ensure we keep and enhance our reputation for quality, we have spent several million dollars in capital improvements in the last two years," says Greg Greenawalt, director of marketing, Renaissance Nashville Hotel. Improvements include:

* 1998: $1.6 million for a new lobby with marble floor, complete redo To reverse an undo operation. See undo.  of the full-service restaurant Commerce Street Grille, and re-novation of the Presidential Suite.

* 1999: $3.1 million for renovating all guest bathrooms and the Grand Ballroom.

Connected to Convention Center

Many associations select the Renaissance Nashville Hotel as their headquarters facility because it is conveniently connected to the Nashville Convention Nashville Convention

The recently reopened Ryman Auditorium The Ryman Auditorium is a 2,362-seat live performance venue located at 116 Fifth Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S., and is best-known as the one-time home of the Grand Ole Opry. , original home of the Grand Ole Opry Grand Ole Opry, weekly American radio program featuring live country and western music. The nation's oldest continuous radio show, it was first broadcast in 1925 on Nashville's WSM as an amateur showcase.  for more than 30 years, is located next door to the hotel. Conference delegates can take advantage of Ryman's historic tours by day and live performances at night.

Delegates will also want to try some of the many new restaurants and clubs opening in the Second Avenue Historic & Entertainment District, such as Hard Rock Care, Market Street Brewery, Wildhorse Saloon, Planet Hollywood, and NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  Care.
