The new edition of this report is not only an up-date but an expansion of the previous reports, with much new data. The report addresses three aspects of the transmission and distribution market.

The T&D systems of every country are outlined, with a database of installed line lengths and system transformer capacity provided historically from 1970 and forecast to 2010 in 5-year segments for each country. Annual growth and replacements are forecast in real terms form 2003 to 2008, for line lengths and MVA system capacity. The databases are provided in the hard copy report and are also provided in excel format. About 30 new system maps of national and international grids have been included. In addition to overall transmission and distribution line lengths, two important new sets of analysis are now included in the database for the first time.
